This annual report was prepared in accordance with the Resource Management Guide No. 135—Annual reports for non-corporate Commonwealth entities issued by the Department of Finance in May 2018.

The main purpose of the report is to describe the department’s activities during 2018–19, reporting on the performance and financial information presented in the 2018–19 Human Services Portfolio Budget Statements, and the 2018-19 Additional Estimates Statements for the Social Services Portfolio (Department of Human Services). It aims to provide readers with a useful and informative picture of the department’s performance during 2018–19.
