Remuneration and benefits

Workplace agreements

We have established a determination under subsection 24(1) of the PS Act for Senior Executive Service (SES) Officers, which defines the terms and conditions of their employment. Within this reporting period, the OSI had one SES Officer under this determination. The salary and conditions of the Director-General are set by the Remuneration Tribunal.1

Our non-SES staff are on secondment from other Australian Government agencies; the relevant industrial instruments for these agencies detail the terms and conditions of their employment.

Salary ranges

Appendix C: Salary and classification rates provides the agency’s salary range by classification level and remuneration paid to Key Management Personnel (KMP), SES and Other Highly Paid Staff.

The OSI provides non-salary benefits to its employees, including salary packaging, laptops and mobile phones. Performance pay does not apply to OSI staff.

Training and development

We support our staff through learning and development opportunities, including specialised training for our investigators and intelligence analysts to support them to manage the unique challenges of their work.

We support a range of other learning and development opportunities for our staff because we are committed to excellence and investing in our greatest asset.
