Annual Performance Statement

Annual Performance Statement I, Sarah McNaughton SC, as the accountable authority of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, present the 2019–20 annual performance statements of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, as required under subsection 39(1)(a) of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act). In my opinion, the annual performance statements are based on properly maintained records, accurately reflect the CDPP’s performance in the reporting period and comply with subsection 39(2) of the PGPA Act. Annual Performance Statement

Entity purpose

To prosecute crimes against Commonwealth law through an independent prosecution service responsive to the priorities of our law enforcement and regulatory partners, to effectively contribute to the safety of the Australian community and to uphold and maintain the rule of law.

Entity Outcome 1

Contribute to a fair, safe and just society by delivering an effective, independent prosecution service in accordance with the Prosecution Policy of the Commonwealth.
