For the 2018-19 reporting period, NQLIRA operated as a taskforce hosted within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

NQLIRA did not receive a direct budgetary appropriation. Its activities were funded by an appropriation provided to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, which enabled the establishment of a taskforce within the Department. As taskforce personnel were Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet secondees, utilising a Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet appropriation, their actions and operations were subject to the operational requirements, governance, financial controls, management and accountability arrangements of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

During the 2018-19 reporting period, NQLIRA did not undertake any activities independently of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

As such, the non-corporate Commonwealth entity reporting requirements as per section 17AD(d) – Management Accountability and 17AD(f) Other Mandatory information of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014 are encompassed within the operations and reporting of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
