I am pleased to present the inaugural Annual Report for the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) for the year ending 30 June 2020 for tabling in Parliament, in accordance
with section 46 of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act).

The annual performance statement in section 3 of this report is prepared in accordance with paragraph 39(l)(a) and accurately presents the NIAA's performance for the 2019-20 financial year in accordance with subsection 39(2) of the PGPA Act.

The financial statements included in this report have been prepared in accordance with the PGPA Act, Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (Financial Reporting) Rule 2015 and the Australian Accounting Standards (AAS).

I certify that the NIAA has prepared fraud risk assessments and fraud control plans and has in place appropriate fraud prevention, detection, investigation and repo1ting mechanisms that meet the needs of the NIAA, and that all reasonable measures have been taken to appropriately deal with fraud relating to the NIAA.
