The ANMM Council met five times this year, as well as dealing with various matters out of session. This year, the Council’s focus has been on various strategic priorities, including the museum’s funding and growth, as well as finances and risk. Some of the matters considered by Council include the management of COVID-19, the Encounters 2020 program (commemorating the 250th anniversary of Cook’s first Pacific voyage), the Rhode Island Marine Archaeology Project, the Maritime Museums of Australia Project Support Scheme (MMAPSS), optimisation of the museum’s site and the museum’s people and culture strategic plan.
