Australian Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care

The Commission continues to support the implementation of the Australian Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care, working in partnership with the National Health and Medical Research Council. Consumer brochures on healthcare-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridioides difficile and vancomycin-resistant enterococci infections have been updated and published. In addition, a guide has been developed to support clinical educators in their promotion and dissemination of the guidelines.

The Commission has also developed additional resources on the prevention and management of vancomycin-resistant enterococci, and environmental cleaning to further support implementation of the guidelines.
